Staying safe

Things people sometimes notice

  • Queasiness for a few days after each shot, worst after a step up
  • Feeling done with a meal sooner, and less interest in snacking, which is the effect
  • Running warmer and a resting pulse a few beats higher, from the retatrutide
  • Constipation, or the opposite, while the gut adjusts
  • Tiredness in the first two weeks

Stop and get help if (trouble breathing or swelling: call 911)

  • Severe stomach pain that goes through to the back (possible pancreatitis)
  • Vomiting you cannot keep fluids down through
  • A racing or irregular heartbeat, chest pain or fainting
  • A lump in the neck, hoarseness or trouble swallowing
  • Hives, swelling or trouble breathing

Talk to your doctor first, especially if

  • You have a heart rhythm problem, uncontrolled blood pressure or heart disease; retatrutide's resting heart rate rise is real
  • You have had pancreatitis or gallstones; both peptides carry the class risk
  • You or a close relative had medullary thyroid cancer or MEN 2; class boxed warning
  • You take insulin or a sulfonylurea; eating much less on top of the glucose lowering can drop you too far
  • You have gastroparesis or a slow stomach, which a fullness peptide on top of a GLP-1 can worsen
  • You are pregnant, nursing or planning pregnancy; stop two months before trying

Mixing it

The 12.5 mg vial is 10 mg retatrutide and 2.5 mg eloralintide. Mix it with 1.25 ml of bacteriostatic water so 10 units is 1 mg of blend: 0.8 mg retatrutide and 0.2 mg eloralintide. The 25 mg vial (20 + 5) takes 2.5 ml for the same math. Dose by the retatrutide share: a 3 mg retatrutide week is 3.75 mg of blend, 37 units.

Bring the vial to room temperature and clean the top.

Draw 1.25 ml of bacteriostatic water for the smaller vial (double it for the larger) and confirm the size in the calculator.

Push the water in slowly against the glass, then swirl gently. Do not shake.

Inject once a week, or split the week's dose into two shots about four days apart.

Store it in the fridge. Mixed, it keeps about four weeks.
