Ipamorelin
The gentlest growth hormone peptide and the usual first one. Better sleep in days, slow recovery gains, and on its own it is mild.
What it is
Ipamorelin gives you a clean pulse of your own growth hormone at bedtime, which most people feel first as deeper sleep and then as easier recovery. It is the one to start with because it leaves cortisol, prolactin, and appetite mostly alone; it is also the one that does the least on its own.
The typical first-time user is in their late thirties to fifties, sleeping worse than they used to, recovering slower from training, and curious about growth hormone peptides without wanting the water and hunger of the older ones. It is also the go-to for women, who tend to tolerate it well at 100 to 200 mcg. If your goal is dramatic body-composition change, ipamorelin alone will disappoint you; it is the helper in a stack, not the engine.
Night one to three: heavier sleep, often more dreams, sometimes a warm flush and tingling for a few minutes after the shot. Weeks two to four: soreness clears faster, joints feel a little better in the morning, and some people notice a mild hunger about an hour after dosing, which is nothing like GHRP-6 but is real and useful if you are trying to eat more. Weeks eight to twelve: on its own, a slight lean-out at best, and only if training and food are in order. Good looks like better sleep and recovery, not a new physique.
Take 200 mcg subQ (just under the skin with an insulin needle) at bedtime on an empty stomach; 100 mcg is the gentle start and 300 mcg the top. Nothing but water for an hour before and half an hour after, because carbs and fat blunt the pulse. Run 8 to 12 weeks. A break is optional, since ipamorelin fades less than GHRP-2 or GHRP-6; if the sleep and recovery gains start to flatten, 2 to 4 weeks off resets the response. The mistakes: dosing after dinner, sitting at 100 mcg for a month and concluding it does nothing, and expecting it to burn fat. Most experienced users do not run it alone; they pair it with CJC-1295 without DAC or sermorelin, where the two together release far more than either one. A 5 mg vial is 25 nights at 200 mcg, so a 12 week solo run is three or four vials.
The evidence is pharmacology, not outcomes. The original work showed ipamorelin releases growth hormone through the ghrelin receptor without raising cortisol, ACTH, or prolactin the way GHRP-2 and GHRP-6 do, which is where the clean reputation comes from, and small human studies confirmed the pulse; the clean profile itself was shown in animals. Nobody has run a trial on sleep, recovery, or body composition in healthy adults. Promising but not proven, with the lowest side-effect cost of the group.
Not worth it alone if you want visible change: CJC-1295 + Ipamorelin is the standard pairing and the better buy for the money. Not the right tool for belly fat; tesamorelin has the human data there. If you want a stronger, shorter push and can live with the hormone spillover, GHRP-2 or hexarelin. If you want a pill, MK-677 works through the same receptor all day, with a lot more hunger and water. A cancer history rules out the whole class, and high fasting sugar means a glucose check before you start.
What people use it for
Sleep and recovery
Some evidenceGrowth hormone pulses and slow-wave sleep are tightly linked, and a bedtime pulse is the mechanism behind the heavier sleep nearly everyone reports. Recovery benefits follow the same logic. No trial has measured either on ipamorelin itself; the human data is on the hormone release, not what it does for you.
A clean hormone profile
Some evidenceAnimal work showed ipamorelin releases growth hormone without the cortisol, ACTH, or prolactin rise seen with GHRP-2 and GHRP-6, and with much less hunger; small human studies confirmed the GH pulse. This is the best-documented thing about it and the reason it is the default first GH peptide.
Body composition
Early daysRodent studies show more lean mass and bone growth, and people run longer cycles for a leaner look, but there is no human body-composition data. On its own the effect is slight; the stack with a GHRH peptide is where people see change, and even then it is modest.
How it works
Where Ipamorelin sits among the GH releasers
- Popular for sleep, recovery, and body composition
- Raises your own growth hormone instead of replacing it
- Animal and early human data; not an approved medicine
- Valued because it lifts GH without much hunger or other side effects
How people use it
Safety, in brief
Things people sometimes notice
- A warm flush and tingling for a few minutes after the shot
- A small red bump where you inject
- Mild hunger about an hour after dosing
- Heavier sleep with more dreams, and a groggy first few mornings
The full picture — stop signs and who should talk to a doctor first — is on the dosing guide.
