AICAR dosage and reconstitution
The 'exercise in a vial' from a famous mouse study: it flips the switch training flips. Proven in mice, banned in sport, unproven in people.
Staying safe
Things people sometimes notice
- A sore spot where you inject
- Mild nausea or a flat, tired feeling in the first week
- Nothing noticeable, which is common
Stop and get help if (trouble breathing or swelling: call 911)
- Rash, swelling of the face or lips, or trouble breathing (an allergic reaction)
- A sudden painful, swollen joint, especially the big toe (gout from raised uric acid)
- Chest pain, a racing heart or breathlessness
Talk to your doctor first, especially if
- You have gout or kidney stones; AICAR raises uric acid, which is the best-documented human side effect
- You take metformin or other diabetes medicines, since the pathways overlap and lactate can climb
- You have heart disease; the only human data is from cardiac surgery infusions, not daily use
Mixing it
Here is the math for a 50 mg vial mixed with 2.5 ml of bacteriostatic water.
Let the vial reach room temperature and wipe both vial tops with an alcohol swab.
Draw 2.5 ml of bacteriostatic water into the syringe.
Push the water in slowly against the side of the glass, not onto the powder.
Swirl gently until dissolved, do not shake.
Store it in the fridge. Once mixed it stays good for about 3 to 4 weeks.
