Selank + Semax

Semax for drive and Selank for calm, half and half in one vial. Felt the same day; the pair is unstudied, but each is a Russian medicine.

What it is

This is the nootropic pair for someone who wants to work hard without the edge: Semax sharpens focus and drive, Selank takes the anxiety and jitter out, and both tend to be felt within the hour. One morning dose, four to eight weeks at a time.

The person buying this has usually tried Semax alone and found it ran a little hot (restless, hard to wind down), or tried Selank alone and found it calm but flat. The 1:1 blend is the fix people landed on: Semax, a fragment of a stress hormone rebuilt to work on the brain without touching cortisol, for drive; Selank, built from an immune peptide, for calm focus without drowsiness or dependence. It suits demanding mental work, social anxiety that gets in the way of performance, and climbing out of a burnout stretch. It is not a replacement for ADHD medication or an antidepressant, and not for anyone with bipolar disorder or a seizure history.

Both halves are fast for peptides. Most people feel something the first or second day: a quieter head, easier to start tasks, less of the tight-chest feeling before a meeting. The calm side builds over the first week or two. By week three or four, people describe a steadier baseline rather than a daily hit, which is when the blend is doing its best work. It will not fix sleep debt and it is not a stimulant; if you feel nothing by day five at 1 mg, this family is probably not for you.

The standard is 1 mg of blend once a day in the morning, which is 500 mcg of each peptide and matches the singles' usual doses (Semax 300 to 500 mcg, Selank 500 mcg). Start at 600 mcg for the first week; 2 mg is the ceiling and mostly for people who already know they need a full milligram of each. Nasal is where most of the single-peptide experience comes from and is the easier route; subQ works and some people find it steadier. The 20 mg vial in 2 ml is 10 mg per ml, so 10 units is 1 mg; that is 20 doses, about a month. Run 4 to 8 weeks, then 2 to 4 weeks off: both halves, Semax especially, tend to fade with daily use, and the break brings them back, so if it fades early, take the break then. The named mistake is dosing after lunch, because the Semax half costs you sleep.

Both are registered medicines in Russia with decades of use and a real, mostly Russian-language, clinical literature: Selank for generalized anxiety (small trials found effects comparable to a benzodiazepine without the sedation), Semax for stroke recovery and cognition. Neither is approved in the West, and no study has tested the pair together; we grade it animal 3, human 2. The blend is a community habit built on two profiles that fit, not a studied combination.

If anxiety is the whole problem, plain Selank at 500 mcg to 1 mg is cheaper and cleaner. If you want pure drive and sleep well anyway, plain Semax, or Adamax if Semax wears off too early. If you have never run either, start with a single so you know which half you are feeling. The blend is for someone who has done that and knows they want both.

What people use it for

Focus, drive and mental stamina

Some evidence

Semax has Russian clinical studies in stroke recovery and cognitive impairment and animal data on BDNF, the growth signal for brain cells. Its use for focus in healthy people is community experience, consistently reported as a same-day effect. It is the half of the blend you notice first.

Anxiety and calm under pressure

Some evidence

Small Russian trials of Selank in generalized anxiety found effects comparable to a benzodiazepine without sedation or dependence, with a slower build over one to two weeks. Not replicated in the West. In the blend it is the half that makes Semax livable.

Mood and burnout recovery

Early days

Both peptides appear in Russian work on stress resilience and recovery after prolonged strain, and users describe a steadier baseline by week three or four. No controlled trial has tested either for burnout in healthy adults. Treat the steadiness as the likely effect and the rest as hope.

The combination itself

Early days

No study has looked at Selank and Semax together. The 1:1 ratio is a convention, not a finding, chosen because the singles' doses happen to be similar. Our human grade reflects the singles, not the pair.
