Staying safe
Things people sometimes notice
- Redness or a small sore spot where you inject; the half-mL draw at the top tier is bigger than most peptides
- A few days of feeling slightly more tired or 'off' as you start, which usually resolves by week two
- Trouble falling asleep if you dose in the evening, for some
Stop and get help if (trouble breathing or swelling: call 911)
- Rash, hives, swelling or trouble breathing
- Dizziness, palpitations or chest discomfort, which are not expected effects and need a look
- Fatigue that gets steadily worse over the first weeks rather than better, which means it is not the right tool for whatever is causing it
Talk to your doctor first, especially if
- You have heart failure, a heart rhythm problem or a diagnosed mitochondrial disease, because that is where the real trials are and your cardiologist or specialist may have a view on dose
- You have kidney disease; SS-31 was studied for kidney protection, and the trial doses were weight-based under monitoring
- You are pregnant or nursing; no safety data
Mixing it
Here is the math for a 50 mg vial mixed with 2.5 ml of bacteriostatic water, taking a 2 mg dose.
Bring the vial to room temperature and clean the top.
Add 2.5 ml of bacteriostatic water slowly.
Swirl gently until dissolved.
Inject subcutaneously (subQ) once a day.
Store in the fridge. Use within about 3 to 4 weeks once mixed.
