SNAP-8 dosage and reconstitution
A face-serum peptide that softens forehead and eye lines by quieting the muscle twitch underneath. Gentle, gradual, nothing like Botox.
Applied to the skin.
It only works while you use it; the effect fades within weeks of stopping, so a break just loses ground.
Staying safe
Things people sometimes notice
- A little dryness or tightness, usually from the serum base rather than the peptide
- Brief redness after applying, especially if layered with retinoids or acids
- Nothing at all for many people, which is normal for a topical peptide
Stop and get help if (trouble breathing or swelling: call 911)
- A rash, swelling, hives or itching that spreads beyond where you applied it
- Redness or stinging that gets worse with each application rather than settling
- Any eye irritation if it migrates into the eye; rinse and stop applying that close
Talk to your doctor first, especially if
- You have eczema, rosacea or another skin condition on the face; a dermatologist can tell you whether a home-mixed serum is a good idea on top of it
- You have had a reaction to a peptide or cosmetic before, since home formulations are not tested the way commercial ones are
- You are pregnant or nursing; there is no data and no reason to think a topical peptide is a problem, but it is reasonable to ask
Mixing it
SNAP-8 is a topical serum, so there is usually nothing to mix. If working from powder, blend it into your serum base per your formula.
Apply to clean, dry skin on target areas.
If making a serum from powder, mix per your formula.
Use once or twice a day, consistently.
Give it several weeks to show.
Store away from heat and light.
