Staying safe
Things people sometimes notice
- Nausea and a hot flush in the first hour, worst on the first few doses and at higher doses; dosing at bedtime hides most of it
- Freckles and moles darkening, and uneven darkening on the face in the first weeks
- Spontaneous erections in men, usually in the hours after a dose
- Less appetite, and tiredness or yawning after a dose for some
Stop and get help if (trouble breathing or swelling: call 911)
- A mole that changes shape, size, color or border, or a new dark spot that is not a freckle; get it checked before another dose
- An erection lasting more than a few hours; that is a medical emergency, not something to wait out
- Vomiting, fainting, a pounding headache or a blood pressure reading well above your normal
- Rash, hives, swelling or trouble breathing
Talk to your doctor first, especially if
- You have many moles, an atypical mole, or any personal or family history of melanoma, because it darkens moles and nobody has shown that is harmless; get a skin check first
- You have high blood pressure or a heart condition, since it raises blood pressure for hours after a dose
- You take blood pressure medicines or erectile dysfunction drugs, because the effects stack
Mixing it
Here is the math for a 10 mg vial mixed with 3 ml of bacteriostatic water, taking a 100 mcg starting dose.
Bring the vial to room temperature and clean the top.
Add 3 ml of bacteriostatic water slowly.
Swirl gently, do not shake.
Start very low, since nausea and other effects are dose-related.
Store in the fridge. Use within about 3 to 4 weeks once mixed.
