Things people sometimes notice
- Redness or a small lump at the injection site
- A very mixed response; feeling nothing at all usually means the vial was weak
- A pumped, watery fullness in the worked muscle in the first weeks

- A lump at the site that grows or stays past a week
- Any new lump, swelling or unexplained growth anywhere else
- Signs of an allergic reaction (hives, swelling, trouble breathing)
Talk to your doctor first, especially if
- You have cancer now or have had it. These peptides push growth and repair signals, so this is a hard stop, not a judgment call.
- Cancer runs strongly in your family; follistatin binds growth-regulating signals across tissues and that risk is unmeasured
- You have polycystic ovary syndrome or another ovarian condition; follistatin regulates activin, which the ovaries depend on
- You take IGF-1 or growth hormone, since stacking growth signals compounds the unknowns
- You are pregnant, nursing or trying to conceive
Mixing it
Follistatin-344 comes as a powder that is reconstituted with bacteriostatic water before subcutaneous injection. Because product quality varies so much between vendors, a certificate of analysis matters more here than usual. There is no validated human dosing protocol, so any amounts are community-reported and approximate.
Bring the vial to room temperature and wipe the top with an alcohol swab.
Add bacteriostatic water slowly down the side of the glass, not onto the powder.
Swirl gently until dissolved; do not shake.
Store reconstituted product in the fridge.
Insist on a certificate of analysis given how variable this protein is to make.
