Staying safe
Things people sometimes notice
- A groggy first hour in the morning if you dosed late or went above 300 mcg
- Vivid dreams in some people, fewer dreams in others
- A mild headache the next day, usually at the higher doses
- Nothing at all, which is common and not a sign of a bad product
Stop and get help if (trouble breathing or swelling: call 911)
- Hives, swelling of the face or lips, or trouble breathing
- Mood that flattens or drops over a week of use; fewer REM minutes can do that, and it is a reason to stop, not push through
- Waking confused or with a racing heart
Talk to your doctor first, especially if
- You take sleep medicines, benzodiazepines, or sedating antidepressants; stacking sedation is where the real risk is
- You have sleep apnea; deeper sleep without treating the apnea can mean longer breathing pauses
- You have been diagnosed with depression; the REM trade-off can affect mood
- You are pregnant, nursing, or trying to conceive
Mixing it
Here is the math for a 5 mg vial mixed with 2 ml of bacteriostatic water, taking a 200 mcg dose.
Bring the vial to room temperature and clean the top.
Add 2 ml of bacteriostatic water slowly.
Swirl gently, do not shake.
Take a small dose shortly before bed.
Store in the fridge. Use within about 3 to 4 weeks once mixed.
