AHK-Cu dosage and reconstitution
A scalp serum for thinning hair that works slowly and only at low strength. Cheap to try, three months to judge.
Applied to the skin.
Results build over months and it is not known to wear off, so there is no reason to cycle. Judge it at 12 weeks, then keep going if it works.
Staying safe
Things people sometimes notice
- Mild scalp dryness or a short itch after applying, which usually settles in the first week
- A blue tint to the serum, which is the copper and is normal
- A faint blue-green mark on a pillowcase if you apply right before bed
Stop and get help if (trouble breathing or swelling: call 911)
- A rash, hives or swelling on the scalp or face
- Irritation that spreads beyond where you applied it or gets worse each day
Talk to your doctor first, especially if
- You have cancer now or have had it. These peptides push growth and repair signals, so this is a hard stop, not a judgment call.
- You have a copper sensitivity or Wilson's disease, since copper is the active part
- You have a scalp condition a dermatologist already treats, such as psoriasis or seborrheic dermatitis, because an irritated scalp sheds more and the serum can confuse the picture
- Your shedding came on suddenly and heavily, which is more often thyroid, iron or a medication than a follicle problem a serum can fix
Mixing it
AHK-Cu is usually a topical serum, so there is often nothing to mix. If you have powder to make a serum, mix per your formula. The liquid takes on a blue tint, which is normal for copper peptides.
If using a ready serum, apply to a clean, dry scalp.
If making a serum from powder, mix per your formula.
A blue tint is normal from the copper.
Apply once or twice a day and be patient, results take months.
Store away from light, in the fridge if it is a fresh mix.
